I was born in 1979 in Jonkoping, a small town in central-south Sweden. I began my paddling career there at the early age of 7. My mom wanted my sister and I to do a watersport, and all the summer spots in the sailing academy were filled.
I started training really hard in 1998 when I was identified as a future Olympic talent in a search done by the Swedish Olympic committee. At the time I was in the army making sure the Swedish king was safe as one of his personal guards. He was so safe that I was able to take a lot of time off for training. Making good progress I made my first senior national team in 1999 where I qualified for the Sydney Olympics in the K-4.
Since then I’ve been a permanent member of the Swedish national team, working as a full time athlete having competed at 3 Olympic Games and every World Championship in between. Along side with my sport I’ve studied some international economics and logistics. When not paddling I’m trying to create the perfect iTunes library and I love the beach and all kinds of water sports.
